Srinagar, May 16 (KNO) : While expressing shock over the passing away of Arshid Ahmad of Pattan, who was injured at the hands of the men in uniform while protesting against the Sumbal tragedy, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) condemned the killing of yet another civilian by government forces in Pulwama and injuring of his brother. The party as per a statement issued to KNO also paid tributes to those killed by Indian forces in Pulwama encounter. The JKDFP Spokesperson said that Kashmiri people are continuously being murdered even in the ongoing month of Ramadan on one pretext or the other. “Some are being killed for taking part in protests and other are being killed for taking arms, even many more are killed in the garb of cross firings. Fact of the matter is that Indian occupation is proving detrimental for Kashmiri people who have been demanding for their political rights since decades together,” he said. He said that Indian and its local agents have jailed hundreds of Kashmiri people including resistance leaders like JKDFP chief, Shabir Shah but they have miserably failed to break the political will of Kashmiri people. “New Delhi has tried character assassination campaign against the resistance leaders like Shabir Shah but it has also failed and people living in Kashmir are steadfastly following the ways of resistance of leaders like Shabir Shah. Indian forces even tried killing sprees but they could not kill the freedom aspirations of the people,” he added. JKDFP said it is unfortunate that India is hell bent to take forward its unprincipled policy about Kashmir despite the fact that it has failed and failed miserably. “It is the duty of Indian civil society to stress upon its political leadership to stop killings in Kashmir and initiate a political process aimed at resolving the long pending dispute. This only can end the ongoing bloodshed and bring stability in the whole region,” JKDFP said.(KNO)
